It’s been one week now since leaving the RV Park and I must say that it has been liberating to be out and about, driving “Miss Daisy” again. A change of scenery and being back on the move does wonders for the heart and soul, as does seeing Miss Daisy’s bright personality shine amongst the usual grey and cloudy backdrop of the February Nanaimo skies. While many questions about my future still remain, I think it’s much more likely that the answers will be found out “on the road”, experiencing the flow of life. It seems to be where my heart feels happiest at the moment and a little change can do one a lot of good.

Here are a few photo highlights from the week on the road which included stints parked at Walmart (which seems to be the best place to meet locals…..I get more emails from people who see me parked there than I have anywhere else!) and on a lovely sidestreet in Nanaimo, near my friend’s Angie and Bruce’s house, a locale which offers stunning views of the downtown and harbour area as well as dangerously close walking proximity to the local pub.

P.S. My friend Laurel-Lea, who runs the awesome cycling website Women’s Cycling has just released her February newsletter which includes some great articles as well as my write-up on my Christmas Day bike adventure to Vancouver which you can check out here My Yuletide Ride on the West Coast.  I will be continuing with monthly contributions featuring riding here in the west and beyond.

My forthcoming puppy and passenger on board Miss Daisy, “Daisy Nanaimo Bar”, is now 5 weeks old and becoming a real terror, I mean “terrier”. You can watch the latest video of her and her littermates in action, Jack Russell Terrier Fun.

Neck Point Beach in Nanaimo, a venue with beautiful oceanside walking paths

Interesting piece of driftwood on beach where I saw my first 3 seals!

On a clear day from Neck Point you can see across to the mountain ranges on the mainland

Flower box heading into downtown, yes, flowers in February....
